Data Deletion

Last updated: May 14, 2026

What data we store

When you connect your Instagram account and use Carougen, we store the following data associated with your account:

  • Instagram username and user ID
  • Encrypted Instagram access token
  • Cached post captions and engagement data (likes, comments)
  • Brand analysis profiles — visual style, voice, and carousel style
  • Generated carousel drafts — copy, image prompts, and slide metadata
  • Generated slide images, stored in Vercel Blob storage
  • Session data

How to request deletion

To request deletion of all your data, email us at:

support@carougen.app

Include “Data Deletion Request” in the subject line. We will delete all data associated with your account within 30 days and confirm by reply.

What gets deleted

Upon receiving a deletion request, we will permanently remove:

  • Your Instagram access token
  • Cached post captions and engagement data
  • All brand analysis profiles (visual, voice, and carousel style)
  • All generated carousel drafts and slide copy
  • All generated slide images from Vercel Blob storage
  • Your session data and account record

Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. Any carousel content you have already published to Instagram will remain on Instagram — Carougen does not have the ability to remove published posts.

Revoking Instagram access

You can also revoke Carougen's access to your Instagram account directly from Instagram at any time:

  1. Open the Instagram app
  2. Go to Settings → Account → Apps and Websites
  3. Find “Carougen” and tap Remove

Revoking access stops future API calls but does not automatically delete data already stored by Carougen. Email us to request full deletion.
